How it started

Our garden started with the idea that the city owned land outside of Lake Middle School's parking lot should be turned into a garden of some sort that included elements of Sloan's Lake neighborhood's history based on Phill Goodstein's (Denver history expert) research and plants that showed the importance of a more sustainable world. We began laying out ideas and who could help with the project in terms of pertnerships, funding and who could manage the space. Jane had already planted some plants and put in a moisture measuring device from NOAA and some people manage it from DPS. After the passing of Jane's husband the project was put on hold and now in 2025 we have started back on getting the project going. We have told the city about the project and it is now in the permitting determination phase.
